Class News 8.26.19

Please click here for the weekly news.

We try to go to the Media Center every week but the days and times vary. I like to sign up for Wed, Thurs, or Fri each week based on availability. Mrs. Crosby is wonderful and is always teaching us important lessons!!!! Please read your books at home over the weekend and when you are done, bring them back to school and put them in your classroom book boxes to reread throughout the week. Please keep your books safe from pets, babies and water. Please also remind your children that they can not take off the media center labels. Lost or damaged books will need to be paid for. Thank you!!

Class News 8.19.19

News 8.19.19

Today our Inquirers wondered what we could make with flour, salt, and water.

We wrote about what we noticed during our experiment. One student said that she noticed how all the items mixed together to form something new.  Another student noticed how they were being a risk taker because they tried something a little scary by squishing their hands in the mystery bowl.

They were very happy to take home their homemade play-doh!!

Mabel’s Labels

We have a partnership with Mabel’s Labels this year and they give proceeds back to the school for items that the Teasley community orders.  Not only do they have labels for clothing, they also have book stamps and other stamps!!  SO CUTE!!  Thought you might want to check them out!!  Just go to campaigns.mabelslabels.com & enter Teasley if you would like to order!!

Do you want to be a Room Parent????

Calling all parents!!!

We are looking for a parent to help as our Room Parent.  This opportunity is a very rewarding and easy way to help your child’s classroom! Room parents send out occasional emails provided by a Teasley room parent Coordinator or myself.  The Room Parent also helps coordinate class parties 2-3 times a year.  The commitment is approximately 2 hours a month and a majority of the work can be handled from home. Please let me know if you are interested in more information.

Thank you!!!

Class News 8.5.19

Click Here for our Class News 8.5.19

We had a GREAT first 2 days getting to know each other and making our Classroom Essential Agreements. We researched information about honeybees and found out how our classroom family is  similar to a colony of honeybees by always being busy helping each other. We all work hard and work together!  We also read The Important Book by Margaret Wise Brown. In small groups, the children talked about the most important things about First Grade. In the end, they said the most important thing about first grade is to learn how to communicate and always showing caring for others!!! More pictures to come soon!!! :0)

Please send back the parent information sheet and clinic card that came home on the first day in the Cobb folder. Thank you for returning those ASAP!
